Class 3

Welcome to Class 3

Useful Information for Class 3

Homework and spellings will be sent home on a Friday. Lots of house-points and stickers will be awarded for completing your homework 🙂

Spelling tests will take place every fortnight on a Friday. Try to practise your spellings as much as you can at home!

We will be learning about addition and subtraction, and numbers to 1000 this term. We will be having lots of fun finding different ways to compose 100. Practising your 10 times table at home could really help with this.

In our literacy lessons, we will be learning about how to write an explanation text, non-chronological report and a letter. We will be using The Write Stuff to help progress our writing. We use the FANTASTICs to help us use some amazing vocabulary in our writing!

We will continue with guided reading this term, finishing the story of The Hodgeheg. Year 3 will also be read with individually throughout the term, to assess their book band level. It would be great if you could also listen to or read to your child at home every day too.

P.E and Forest School

Please can Year 3 wear their P.E kits to school on Tuesdays.

For this half term we will not be doing Forest School. Instead Year 3 will take part in 2 P.E sessions each week. Forest School will start again in the Spring.

Year 3 will need recorders in school on a Thursday and Friday.
