Headteacher Message Friday 5th July 2024

I can’t believe that we are nearly at the end of another school year. The summer term is always a busy time with lots happening and lots of changes on the horizon.  All the children spent the morning in their new classes with their new teachers whilst the majority of the year 6 children had their transition day at William Brookes.

We are delighted to have employed Mr Bearne to teach Y1 next year. Mr Bearne will be a fantastic asset to the school and has already been a big hit with the children.

Our annual sports day was a great success with the children taking part in a range of activities. Thank you to all the parents who attended and all the staff for their headwork behind the scenes.

The school has lots of exciting plans for the year ahead. We have listened to feedback from parents and will be improving communication between school and home. We are also introducing a new curriculum from September. Details of hat is being taught in each year group will be shared with parents.

We have a some changes in staff this year. Miss Tench, Mrs Weston, Miss Watson and Mrs Clay will be leaving us at the end of this academic year.

I have been proud to be the headteacher of this wonderful school for the last 10 years but I have decided that next year will be my last year before retiring. I’m sure the 3-18 Trust will work alongside the Governors over the next 12 months to ensure that a suitable replacement can be found. In the meantime I will continue to ensure that Much Wenlock Primary School and Nursery is a great learning community.

Have a nice weekend
